This page introduces my books in general. For information about a specific book, please click a link below or return to the studio main page and click the corresponding book cover. Thanks!

My desire as a writer is to explore as broadly and deeply as I can, and so I’m trying to create a variety of genres of books. At an early age I claimed “I never want a novel” or “I want to never write a novel” or something like that. I meant that I want to create new forms of literature. I felt that if I were to write novels, the form itself would limit the world available for exploration. I’m not sure how successful I’ve been at writing a variety of genres, but I’ve given it my best shot.

This website – Bird and Ocean dot com – I consider to be a new genre of literature (here’s what I mean). And in this the pilot season of the website I’m publishing my first two books, each of which is in its own unique genre:

  • The Fiend of Fargus Fun Fair  (the first in the series: Bootes-Waugh, the light-hearted existentialist)
    • This is the most novelish book I’ve written. I see it as a mixture of three genres, none of which is “novel”. I won’t tell what are those three genres, but there are clues scattered inside the book itself.
  • Satyricon III
    • This book is a satyricon, the third satyricon ever created, after the works by Petronius and Fellini.

In Season 1, summer 2026, a third book will come out:

  • Breakfast in a strange land, Momento Phainos LINK
    • With this book I tried to create something called a “self-biography”, which is like “autobiography” except that it tries to shape – in some ways even create – the self that it’s depicting.

Each book is quite different from the others, but they’re all also related to each other in sometimes unusual, mostly hidden ways. I hope you’ll enjoy them.
